Sound the “a larum,” if you will…

Exciting news has filtered through the web this past week. It was officially announced that Marcus Foster will be joined by fellow English folk musician Johnny Flynn on December 7th, co-headlining at The Vera Project in Seattle.

Flynn, hailed as “the next poster boy of the nu-folk scene” by the London Times, burst onto the music scene in 2008 with his first LP, A Larum, catching the attention of fans and critics alike. A poignant story teller, Flynn will no doubt weave a tangled web of acoustic melodies and derisive wordplay to reel the audience in.

Adding to buzz is Marcus Foster’s highly anticipated return to the U.S. Foster, a contributor to multiple major motion picture soundtracks (Twilight, $5 a Day), completed a sold-out U.S. mini tour this past summer, and left audiences across America wanting more. Announcements by Foster via Twitter have alluded that new material is to be debuted, and the news that fan favorite song “I Was Broken” may make a re-vamped appearance has loyal Foster fans even more excited to welcome him back on American soil.

This impressive pairing could leave audiences wanting only one thing – perhaps a little dual “folk-freestyle?”

For the London fans that were disappointed that Marcus’ show on the 3rd had to be cancelled, we come bearing gifts. Marcus has announced a show on July 4th! This show is going to be at Banjo Browns @ The Oxford; cost is £3.00. The address is posted below!

Brixton JAMM Show – Cancelled!

Unfortunately, Marcus has announced that he has had to cancel his gig at Brixton Jamm on July 3rd, supporting Alabama 3. He has sent his apologies to the fans.

Marcus Foster EP Update

Less than 24 hours after it’s release, the Marcus Foster EP hit the number one spot on iTunes for ‘Top Album’ in the singer/songwriter genre.

No surprise for us here!

Featuring fan favorites such as “Kiss Is A Knife,” “I Don’t Mind,” and “14 Times,” the six song EP quickly climbed the charts and with rave reviews, rating at the highest possible 5 stars.

Congratulations to Marcus on the success of his first solo release! We look forward to what we’re certain will be an equally successful U.S. tour!

The Troubadour Show – CANCELLED!

Poor Marcus…he has had to cancel this Sunday’s (June 21, 2009) show at The Troubadour – possibly because of the near “loss of thumb” incident that he recently Twittered about.

Get well soon!

He has, however, also advised that the L.A. show dates for his upcoming U.S. mini tour are now in order, and will be posted on his MySpace page soon. Keep an eye out!

Special Announcement: Update!

To clear up any confusion about the Dallas “Triple Threat” show:

The show will take place SATURDAY night, following the end of the three artist’s Twi-con commitments. Saturday is August 1st, and the doors open at 11:30pm. The show itself starts at midnight and continues through the wee hours of the morning – which is technically August 2nd. This is why Poor David’s/Front Gate Tickets are selling pre-sale tickets for the date of August 2nd.

Tickets can be purchased here via Front Gate, and can be mailed or picked up at willcall.

The announcement we’ve been waiting for! Marcus, Bobby and Sam have announced plans for a special After Show party in Dallas, August 1st! Hurry to get your tickets, these definitely won’t last.

Up All Night Music is very proud to announce a public after show party on the 1st August in Dallas. The party starts at midnight, and will feature live performances by Bobby Long, Marcus Foster and Sam Bradley. This will be the only live music show featuring each of these artists together this summer, other than Twicon. There are only 400 tickets available, so this will also be a very intimate show. Bobby Sam and Marcus will be available for a short meet and greet session during the night.

This show is open to any one over the age of 18.

Bobby Long and Marcus Foster Show Time Change.

Please be aware that the start time of Bobby Long and Marcus Foster’s show
at Poor Davids Pub in Dallas on the 31st July has changed.

Bobby Long will be on stage at 6.30pm. Marcus Foster will be onstage at
7.45pm local time.

These changes have been made to allow fans being able to get to the 100
Monkeys show later on the same night in a different venue.

Please also be aware that there are only a few tickets left for the Bobby
